Reading Specialist 

Karen Fernandez serves as our Reading Specialist, supporting both Elementary and Primary students at Coastal Sage Montessori. She works side by side with children to build strong foundations in reading and writing, helping each student develop confidence and joy in literacy.



With over 30 years of teaching experience, a Master’s degree in Education, and certification as a Reading Recovery Teacher, Karen brings both expertise and creativity to her work. Her warm, encouraging approach makes learning accessible and enjoyable, and she loves seeing students light up when they discover new skills and stories. She is dedicated to nurturing a lifelong love of reading in every child she teaches.
